Download HotFix to Fix Windows 7 SP1 Cannot Read DVD Content

Microsoft has acknowledge an issue in Windows 7 Sp1 & Windows server 2008 R2 running computers & PC may fail to access the data & content of DVD and CDs created using old version of Windows operating system such as Windows XP. In an knowledge base article published at kb2566584 Microsoft suggest that Windows Sp1 fails to read content of some DVD under following scenario,

1. You use a Windows XP-based computer to write data to a DVD.

2. You do not finalize the DVD.

3. You try to read the DVD on a Windows 7-based or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer.

In this scenario, the data may not be visible. The issue occurs because the DVD is missing internal session data. This causes Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to treat the DVD as invalid. Microsoft has already issued hotfix to fix this issue.
