How to Display Windows 7 Build & Version Number On Desktop

There are tools to patch Windows 7 to hide Windows 7 Build watermark from desktop. However once Windows 7 final is released this watermark will be removed and you will not see Windows 7 Build details on desktop.
This will be in favor of majority of windows 7 users but for those network administrators and users who need to work on different virtual machines with different stats of service pack will benefit with Windows 7 build number displayed on Desktop.

How to Display Windows Build/Version On Desktop
1. Click Win+R Keyboard shortcut to bring Run Command
2. Now Type Regedit and open Registry Editor
3. Navigate to following registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\PaintDesktopVersion

4. Double click on PaintDesktopVersion key in right side pan of Registry Editor and change the value to from 0 to 1
5. Restart.
That’s it.
Above guide is application for Windows 7, Windows Vista & Windows XP.

This is almost exactly what I’m looking for. What i’d like for this to also post the current computer name. when I have 7 or 8 RDP sessions open this would be really handy to see in the corner.
